SEND Information
At D’Eyncourt Primary School we are proud to provide a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment where every member of our community is valued and respected.
Every teacher is a teacher of all children in their care, including those with SEND. Our broad, balanced, creative curriculum and enrichment activities provide opportunities for everyone to achieve and succeed. We celebrate our achievements, gifts and cultural diversity, irrespective of individual differences within the protected categories of the Equality Act of 2010.
Together we take pride in positively contributing to our school and the wider community.
At D’Eyncourt Primary School, we recognise that every child and their needs are different, we will do our best to ensure that every pupil, including those with SEND get the right type of support. We believe passionately in the limitless potential of all our pupils and we strive to ensure that every pupil, whatever their need, is successful in achieving their own personal goals.
How can I get help for my child?
As a parent/carer, our biggest priority is the wellbeing of our children so if you are worried about your child’s progress then initially speak to your child’s class teacher. They will happily offer initial support and advice. They will also pass your concerns to the SENCO who will be able to guide and assist you efficiently.
However, if you are still worried that your child is not making progress and needs further support, then you can speak to the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator – Mrs E Palmer. You can do this by filling out the form here, ringing the school office or messaging on class dojo. A phone call or meeting will be arranged to discuss your concerns at the SENCO’s earliest convenience.
- We are a child and family-centred school, so you will be involved in all decision-making about your child.
- If either you or our staff thinks your child has SEND, this may be because they are not making the same progress as other children. We will look into it, observe them and assess their understanding of what we are doing at school to find out what is causing the difficulty. Should we require further help we will contact our local support team.
- When we assess SEND we discuss it with you to determine whether your child’s understanding and behaviour are the same at school and home, we take this into account and work with you so that we are all helping your child in the same way to make progress.
Some children will require support for a longer period of time to ensure they can access the curriculum effectively and be included fully in classroom learning and school events. Support will be planned by school staff and where appropriate by external professionals. Parents/carers will be kept informed of any additional support
Our School SEN Information Report describes the range of provisions and support available to support identified children as and when appropriate. This Offer is subject to change depending on budgetary constraints and policy review.
The SEND coordinator at D’Eyncourt Primary School is Emma Palmer (Rebecca Murphy covering MAT leave 2023).
