Phonics

At D’Eyncourt everyone works hard to ensure that all children have a strong understanding of the basics of reading as soon as possible.

To this end we have been using a nationally recognised programme for phonics called RWI (Read Write Inc.). This phonics strategy is a progressive way of teaching children the sounds the need to read confidently. RWI is used alongside storytelling and other comprehension techniques to provide a rich variety of content to inspire pupils to read with understanding and for enjoyment.
